There are different requirements for each of the Uber car types. There is the Uber X car type, it is the most common Uber service and it accepts cars with four doors if they fall within a certain age. "Whereas, the Uber BLACK car services will only accept vehicles of a certain type.These basic requirements are for all Uber drivers, regardless of their age or which service they are driving for:
- An Uber driver will have to pass a background check.
- An Uber driver needs an in-state Driver’s License.
- An Uber driver will have to have a clean Driver’s License.
- An Uber driver needs three years of driving experience.
- An Uber driver must be twenty-one years of age.

Uber X Car Requirements:
Uber X is the lowest costing service car offered by the Uber Company. Nearly any vehicle that is the year 2006 or newer is going to qualify for this Uber car service type. Statistics show that most of the requested rides on the market will be for the Uber X service.The Uber vehicle must be a four door sedan with seats for four or more passengers, not including the driver.
Here are the requirements for the Uber X vehicles:
Vehicle must seat up to four passengers, this does not include the driver.Vehicle must be ten years old or newer (The year 2006 or newer) for most cities.
Uber X Exceptions
There are exceptions, a 15 year old vehicle (The year of 2000 or newer) is allowed in the following states: Oklahoma, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Francisco.

The Uber XL car requirements:
The Uber vehicle must be a four door sedan with seats for six or more passengers, not including the driver.This type of service is used when there are going to be a rather large groups consisting of five to six passengers. The rates for the fare is higher than it is for the Uber X. So naturally, one is going to make a little more money driving the XL than those driving the X.

The Uber PLUS Car Requirements:
The Uber PLUS is better known as the Uber SELECT, in the markets, this type of Uber are only available in select cities. The Uber vehicle must be a four door luxury sedan, with seating for five or more passengers, not including the driver.- Must have a vehicle that is 2007 or newer
- Have leather interior
- There must be in-state automobile insurance on the vehicle
- There must be in-state tags on the vehicle
- There must be a current registration on the vehicle
- Must be unmarked, taxi, and salvaged vehicles

- Vehicle must pass an Uber vehicle inspection

What is the Uber BLACK car?
A professional chauffeur service, that is what Uber BLACK is. Anyone interested in driving for Uber BLACK would have to meet all the requirements for the Uber BLACK car, and the requirements are much more stricter than they are for the Uber X. In fact, only certain cars will be accepted.Furthermore, all of the Uber BLACK chauffeur services have to meet the requirements to be a chauffeur. They must have proof that shows they have commercial automobile insurance, an airport permit, and a TCP.
The difference in the Uber types such as the Uber BLACK car is the cost of the fare. The fare for the Uber BLACK is higher than the other types of cars, compare $3.55 per mile and $0.45 per minute plus there is an $8.00 additional base fare. whereas, the Uber X fares are only $1.00 per mile and $0.18 per minute, without a base fare. This is more or less self explanatory, the Uber BLACK driver is going to make more money than a Uber X driver.
The Uber BLACK & the Uber SUV:
This is the Uber car service that holds the highest driver standards and the highest vehicle standards. It is a high end and high cost Uber Service
Requirements for the Uber BLACK car:
- One must possess commercial automobile insurance, an airport permit, and a TCP.
- The vehicle for this Uber service must be Black on Black and in perfect condition, with a Black leather interior.
- It must be the year 2012 or newer.
- It must have Commercial automobile insurance and a commercial registration.
- This vehicle must a specific city airport permit. (When it is required)

(In select cities only) Must have an airport permit for most cities, a TCP, and commercial automobile insurance. This is Uber's Luxury Service car and will only accept the best luxury brands.To be considered for a luxury brand vehicle for the Uber LUX car service: Vehicle must meet the following criteria:

Requirements for Uber Select Car:
This type of Uber car service lets riders feel a little luxury as the vehicle has a very nice leather interior. This Uber car service type was once known as the Uber PLUS. the following gives the vehicle requirements.Here are the vehicle requirements for Uber Select:

- Considered an entry level luxury sedan.
- Must have leather interior.

Requirements of the Uber driver.
The general requirements of a Uber vehicle. These requirements are consistent with all of the Uber Services:- The vehicle used for the Uber driving services must at least ten years of age or newer (the year 2006 model). (SEE THE EXCEPTIONS BELOW)
- The vehicle used for the Uber driving services must be a four door minivan or truck and may be a Manual or Standard transmission.
- Appearance should not contain any major damage.
- The vehicles automobile insurance must contain the drivers full name.

Restrictions of a Uber driver's vehicle.
The following vehicles do not qualify for any of the Uber driving services:- Full size van's, such as the Ford E series, Ford Tranzit, and the GMC Savana cannot drive for Uber.
- Vehicles that have been previously marked, such as a taxis.
- No rebuilt or salvaged vehicles, a vehicle cannot have a salvage title.
Should the vehicle qualify for more than one of the services we offer, you will receive ride requests from both (All)?
An Uber XL driver is apt to receive requests for both, the Uber X and the Uber XL riders due to a default unless Uber has been previously asked by the driver not to send the XL requests. The Uber XL's pay rate is higher than that of the Uber X although, the rider demand is exceptionally lower. And that is the reason that most Uber X drivers will choose to except both. The same thing occurs with the Uber Select and the Uber X, Select will receive the Uber X unless you request not to receive them.How do I know for sure if my car qualifies or not?
One sure fire way of knowing whether or not your vehicles qualifies would be to apply for the position of one of the Uber drivers. Once you have provided the needed information regarding your vehicle Uber will take it a step further and let you know if there is any point in going to the next step. If your vehicle has qualified, Uber will let you know that you will need to go ahead and get your vehicle inspection taken care of.If you pass your vehicle inspection and you also pass your background check you will then be cleared to drive for the Uber chauffeur Services.
